The 2023 IFCPF (International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football) Asia-Oceania Championships got underway in Melbourne last weekend, with both the ParaRoos and ParaMatildas being represented.
The ParaRoos and ParaMatildas are Australia’s National football teams for athletes with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury or symptoms acquired from stroke.
Byron Bay FC Club President, Ben Roche is a stalwart of the ParaRoos squad, having been capped 59 times since his debut in 2005. As the Vice-Captain of the ParaRoos squad, Ben will again be pulling on the green and gold this week, as the 14-man ParaRoos squad aims to perform well in this tournament. India, Iran, Japan and Thailand join the ParaRoos at the tournament.
You can follow the ParaRoos and ParaMatildas live and free via SBS On Demand.
The Championships conclude with the Men’s Final this Saturday (11th November).
