Football Claws Back

May 30th, 2022

Although football was again substantially anchored last weekend as a consequence of the many field closures, play was possible at four club venues, prompting optimism that season 2022 has better weeks ahead. Scheduling of hundreds of games each week continues to be a complex jigsaw puzzle as clubs contend with sodden fields and uncertainty about if and when many club venues will return to a satisfactory state this season. There are simply not enough fields available at the moment to schedule every fixture.

Football Far North Coast continues to consider the way forward for season 2022 with ongoing disruption to this season. The plan to deliver sixteen games for each senior team and fourteen for junior competition teams is now unlikely, unless the Finals Series is modified? An assessment will be made in due course, with participation remaining of higher priority than crowning champion teams this season. Stay tuned!!

Thanks again to club volunteers who continue to work tirelessly to support community football activity.

Enquiries about any football matter should be directed in the first instance to your respective member club, that can in turn contact FFNC if required.
