Fixtures Published for Period Ended 31st July

May 30th, 2024

Fixtures for the period ended 31st July have been posted to the FFNC website.

FFNC highlights the following information.

  • More than 500 fixtures have already been postponed this season, so most Junior competition teams have/will be scheduled to play various double-up weekends and some mid-week fixtures. Senior Leagues teams have/will similarly be scheduled to play various mid-week or occasional Fri/Sun or Sat/Sun fixtures.
  • Work continues to consider what viable options exist to re-schedule all (or as many) fixtures that have been postponed and we make it known that a CLOSE check of the draw should be made, as FFNC will continue to reschedule fixtures, including some within the period ended 31st July that are not posted to the website.
  • A modified Finals Series (we don’t yet know what this will look like), is anticipated, to provide an opportunity for MOST players to play as many games as they can in 2024, noting that a four-week seniors finals series and a three-week junior finals series, is now not achievable.
  • FFNC reserves the right to review the format of each league, IF further disruption occurs, as a consequence of wet weather.

In summary, the objective to deliver a full season, being every fixture that would ordinarily be played, is constrained by the impact of the wet conditions, but further impeded by the reality that demands upon players and match officials must be reasonable, set against the backdrop of a season that has already been torpedoed by the loss of many weeks already.
