Football Far North Coast club Alstonville will be running their fifth annual Oceania Cup that will run this weekend on Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October 2017 at the award-winning club’s home grounds in Alstonville, NSW.
The tournament is an all-girls and women’s football tournament, that invites female club teams from Under 12 Years up to Open Women’s teams to compete in an 11-a-side format with a minimum of five 50 minute games played per team over the two days in the October long weekend.
After the round robin competition, every team will play in a final against a similarly ranked team, with the top-ranked teams in each grade playing for the championship on Sunday evening.
Alstonville Club official and Tournament organiser Matt Wiltshire says their club proudly supports girl’s and women’s football on the North Coast.
“We are excited to welcome 40 teams from all around NSW, Queensland and Tasmania this year, as well as teams from local clubs right across the Far North Coast. We are looking forward to a weekend of fun and participation to celebrate the end of our regular season,” Wiltshire said.
The tournament is proudly hosted by the Alstonville and District Football Club, in cooperation with Football Far North Coast and Northern NSW Football.
