Award winning Far North Coast club, Alstonville & District Football Club, are gearing up to again run its hugely popular Junior Football Carnival.
This year’s Carnival, which is open to all players aged 6 to 11 years, will be held on Sunday 5th August at Geoff Watt Oval, Alstonville.
Carnival Coordinator Glenn Hargrave, says “the carnival is a fun family day that promotes the enjoyment of football in a friendly, non-competitive environment. Last year over 1200 budding footballers attended the carnival, making it the biggest carnival on the north coast’s football calendar. Our volunteers have been hard at work to ensure that the day runs smoothly and that everyone enjoys a great day of football.”
This year’s carnival is near capacity, with all divisions just about full. There are teams from the local area attending the big day, as well as teams from further abroad including the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas.
There will be something on offer for all the family, with a delicious BBQ, our famous Villa Burgers, freshly brewed coffee and home-made cakes, a jumping castle for the littlies, and other entertainment. There might even be an appearance from Villa Dog!
The carnival is proudly supported by the Alstonville community, including major sponsors One Agency, Mortgage Choice, Clarence Property, Alstonville Plaza and Plateau Sports Club, and the carnival is sanctioned and supported by Football Far North Coast.
