It was a wet and rainy conclusion to the inaugural NNSWF Champion of Champions competitions but it didn’t hinder Bolworra Lorn JSC as they took out the 15 Years competition, and Alstonville FC who won the 16 Years competition last week.
Bolworra Lorn finished the competition with a perfect record including 11 goals scored in the 15 Years, while the 16 Years Alstonville FC side dominated their competition having won their age group even before the final match.
Torrential rain resulted in the final day and round of games being washed out and cancelled.
Northern NSW Football CEO, David Eland said despite the early finish due to weather, the event was a success and will continue to grow over coming years.
“Players, parents and coaches have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback surrounding the event,” Eland said.
“Each team should be proud to have been invited to represent their Zone to compete for the coveted title. Each of our seven (7) Member Zones was represented over the tournament through the 26 competing teams.”
Eland continued to thank the support of Coffs Harbour City Council for its access to Ce.x International Stadium and commended them on their great facilities and congratulated them on the upgrades which are underway.
