The NSW Office of Sport will be running a Child Safe Sport workshop in Lismore on Wednesday 17th October.
Football Far North Coast endorses the strategies that are aimed at evolving the education and mechanisms in place at ALL sport and recreation/football clubs within our zone for the purpose of protecting children from harm and abuse.
Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) also outlines a range of mandatory requirements for individual member clubs and provides “step by step” type resources in relation to Working with Children requirements. These resources can be found in the “Club Headquarters” section of the FFNC and NNSWF websites.
Although recognising the range of demands upon volunteers within grassroots sports, the responsibility to protect children from harm and abuse is a non-negotiable requirement. The resources available through NNSWF, Office of the Children’s Guardian and NSW Office of Sport will each provide practical support for member clubs and of course individual volunteers.
The Board and Management of FFNC anticipates that each individual member club will comply with all components of relevant legislation, regulations and procedures on this important matter as part of club eligibility and affiliation with FFNC each year.
FFNC and NNSWF strongly encourage club delegates to attend the workshop on Wednesday 17th October. Registration is required, so to register for this important workshop please click here.
