Local referee Courtney Jameson has recently returned from officiating at the Westfield National Youth Championships for Girls, which were held at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour.
Courtney was one of 19 young female match officials selected by FFA from around Australia to officiate at this event, which is FFA’s primary National football competition for the 13 and 15 years Girls, including teams from each of the State Federations of the FFA.
For match officials, attendance at the five day event not only included officiating on matches involving Australia’s best young female footballers. They also received premier coaching and feedback by Australia’s best female referee coaches and assessors to help them continue their development.
In the lead-up to this National tournament, Courtney had to pass a fitness test and she received coaching and feedback by local assessors while regularly officiating on matches in the FFNC zone, including senior Men’s matches.
Courtney’s selection for this event is evidence that pathways exist for FFNC match officials and we look forward to continuing to progress the development opportunities that exist for local match officials, both male and female.
Congratulations to Courtney on this outstanding achievement!
