Female Football Week Launches 19th June

June 15th, 2021

Football Far North Coast (FFNC) in conjunction with Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) celebrates Female Football Week from Saturday 19th June through to Sunday 27th June.

Female participation is an ever-increasing metric within football locally and is highlighted by an 11% increase in 2021 from 2019; season 2021 sees over 2100 females playing the game, with more than 340 team officials and volunteers also registered.  This was supported by record female team nominations across senior and junior pointscore competitions as well as GIRLS Only MiniRoos.

FFNC continues to drive female participation throughout all roles in the game including match officials, team officials, volunteers and of course player participation and look ahead to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup that is to be co-hosted by Australia to continue to drive female participation in the number one participation sport in Australia.
