Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is now accepting nominations from clubs upcoming 2020 FFA Cup competition.
The FFA Cup provides football teams across the country the chance to face-off against elite Hyundai A-League clubs in the national knockout tournament.
NNSWF’s Preliminary Rounds will be split into two conferences:
Northern Conference which includes;
– Football Far North Coast
– Football Mid North Coast
– North Coast Football
Northern Inland Football, and
Southern Conference which includes;
– Newcastle Football
– Macquarie Football
– Hunter Valley Football
– NEWFM Northern League One (NNSWF Premier Competition), and
– NPL Northern NSW (NNSWF Premier Competition)
All Clubs who participate in the 2020 FFA Cup (Northern Conference) will be placed into an open draw, there may be a chance that teams from within the same Zone may be drawn against each other during Rounds 1 to 5. An open draw is required to avoid capping the number of participating Clubs from each Zone.
Northern Conference Schedule
* Fixtures will take place on Monday 8th June in the event Northern Conference Teams
qualify for Round 7 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
* In the event only Southern Conference Teams qualify fixtures will take place
midweek at Club venues
Depending upon the number of Clubs entering the FFA Cup from Northern Conference up to 5 rounds will be played at regional venues.
The schedule has been condensed to be competed between the months of February and March to avoid matches being conducted within the respective zone competition. NNSWF acknowledges there are several Zone Cup competitions being played during this period, and as such NNSWF will liaise with the relevant zone and clubs to avoid clashes and/or localised amendments during this time.
Southern Conference Schedule
* Fixtures will take place on Monday 8th June in the event Northern Conference Teams
qualify for Round 7 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
* In the event only Southern Conference Teams qualify fixtures will take place on
Tuesday 16th June or Wednesday 17th June at Club venues.
Depending on nominations received from Zone League Clubs, NEWFM Northern League One Clubs will be included in the draw in either Round 2 or Round 3 with National Premier Leagues Clubs being included in the following round.
Live Draw Process:
The first FFA Cup draw will be conducted on Tuesday 28th January 2020 for Rounds 1 & 2 or Rounds 2 & 3 depending on which is required to allow teams to plan over the 2 rounds of fixtures; this process will also take place for Rounds 4 & 5 due to matches being played over consecutive weekends.
Registration Information:
Registration fees are as per 2019; $300.00 excl GST for Community Clubs and fees for Premier Clubs are included in their competition fees invoiced throughout the season.
