Football Far North Coast statement regarding northern NSW floods

March 2nd, 2022

To our football community,

Let me firstly offer positive thoughts to everyone at this devastating time. While the full impact is not yet known, we are aware of the dire situation that is being faced across many parts of our region. Your safety and the safety of your family, friends and community are the most important things right now.

I want to reassure you that football should be the furthest thing from anyone’s mind right now. I simply write to make it known that there is nothing to be considered regarding football matters until further notice.

We have decided to suspend all football activities in our region indefinitely.

We will provide a further update on Monday 21 March. But until then there will be no football-based communication to clubs or volunteers. There will be nothing required of you during this time. But rest assured clubs will still be given ample time to prepare for the season.

Right now, helping yourself and others is the focus. Football will rebound, as it always does, when the time is right.

Stay safe,

Steve Mackney

Football Far North Coast General Manager
