Lismore Workers FC Claims 2025 ADC Open C Final

August 11th, 2025

The Tursa Employment and Training Open C Final that was washed out back in April, was contested between Lismore Workers FC and Alstonville FC on Sunday 10th August, with Woodburn being the venue as a consequence of most fields across the zone being sodden.

The match was played in blustery and cool conditions in the first 45 minutes, with Villa getting the first goal of the final, before the Redmen equalised and the teams went to the break still locked up. Although Workers appeared to have the dominant possession for most of the second half, the score remained 1-1 at the end of normal time. Extra-time was required and Lismore Workers didn’t take long to score one and then another, before sealing the match with a fourth goal to claim the title, with a 4-1 victory.

Relentless rain from Friday prevented the Open A and Open B Finals from proceeding on Saturday, with efforts to find a field that was playable proving unsuccessful. Football Far North Coast will now make an assessment of whether these finals can be rescheduled, within the four weeks left for the season or even beyond?

Season 2025 is proving to be one of the most disrupted years in decades.  Some real soul searching will be required to consider how FFNC formulates a logical conclusion to each competition, against the backdrop of the constraints, that include a finite timeline and fields at most venues that are predicted to regretfully remain (at best), marginally playable for the balance of the season.

FFNC will communicate directly with each member club when appropriate.
