Courtney Nelson was nominated for a Northern NSW Football Champions Award, by parents of the Alstonville FC Girls 10’s Snappers. The nomination was glowing in praise for Courtney, describing her as an exceptionally dedicated and passionate coach, who nurtures each member of the team, with her care and ability to increase the skills and confidence of each player. Courtney has coached the team for several years, bringing her expertise as a former premier league player, to mentor these young girls, in a way that inspires and builds wonderful team harmony. Parents say that the girls listen eagerly to Courtney, with her knowledge of the game, patience and personal traits always guiding and teaching the girls new skills. She has created a strong cohesion within her team, ensuring that both players and parents feel welcome at each game and training session. She consistently motivates her players to exhibit exceptional sportsmanship, emphasising the importance of fair play and respect. Courtney’s leadership and commitment to personal and team growth, have set the foundation for success, driven by sound values, both on and off the field.
It is very appropriate that Courtney Nelson is recognised with a Local Champion Award, as the Coach of the Month for July. Each player in the Alstonville FC Girls 10’s Snappers, every parent, the club and football more broadly, applaud Courtney’s unwavering passion for football and her support and encouragement.
