C.ex International Stadium hosted the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup Qualifying Weekend today with strong contenders from Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) four regional Member Zones.
In the first two matches of the day, both teams representing North Coast Football dominated their opponents from Football Mid North Coast.
Coffs City United FC went on a field day against Taree Wildcats with hat tricks from Deng Myak and Nick Lambert and a goal from Dut Garang advancing Coffs United to Round 5 of the Qualifying Weekend with a 7-1 win.
Coffs Coast Tigers FC secured their halftime lead defeating Macleay Valley Rangers FC 2-0 with goals from Innocent David in the 12th minute and Ammanuel Ayelew in the 35th.
In the second matches of the afternoon, it was a tight affair in both fixtures at halftime, however, both of Football Far North Coast club’s displayed resilience against their Northern Inland Football opponents with both advancing to Round 5.
It was a slow start for Byron Bay FC and Demon Knights FC with scores locked at 0-0 at halftime. However, a brace from Sam Shepherd and goals from Quinn McDonald and Gianluca Bongiovanni finished the Demon Knights 4-0.
Bangalow SC fought back from a 1-0 deficit to Oxley Vale Attunga FC at halftime, with nailing the coffin late in the piece to secure their 3-1 victory.
Round 5 of the Northern Conference Qualifying Weekend was drawn at random at the conclusion of Round 4 assisted by the four winning team captains.
Round 5 will see Coffs Coast Tigers FC take on Byron Bay FC and Coffs City United taking on Bangalow SC. Both Fixtures will be held at the C.ex International Stadium kicking off at 10 am.
