The Newcastle Permanent Community Awards for 2019 were announced recently. These awards provide the much needed recognition for the people that keep our game running throughout the year. The coaches, the volunteers and the referees contributing each week to their local footballing communities.
The winners of the Football Far North Coast Community Awards are:
Coach of the Year
Carlo Borra
Carlo has coached at Richmond Rovers FC for many years now and his dedication to the club is exceptional. Carlo coaches multiple junior and senior teams – but his passion for developing and improving young players is brilliant as he has become a strong asset to Richmond Rovers.
Volunteer of the Year
Michael Primiano
Michael has been involved with Goonellabah FC for over 40 years including roles as a player, coach, committee member and now, current Club President. Michael is the driving force of clubs future progression and has done a great job so far.
Referee of the Year
Len Keith
Len has been involved as a match official for several decades, thus his life membership of Far North Coast Referees. Len has been a strong advocate for young officials progressing in the game and the evolution of the FFNC referee framework.
