Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) released today a new strategic plan which will guide our priorities and allocation of resources for the next four (4) years. The release precedes the official opening of player registrations on 1 February for the 136th season of football.
The four-year plan, entitled Play On! builds on the momentum gained throughout the previous strategic cycle, which delivered unprecedented participation, investment in community facilities, stakeholder engagement and financial stability.
The plan identifies improving the experience for all participants, leading towards a unity of purpose, building generations of successful National teams and transitioning participants to fans and consumers of the game at all levels as focus areas.
NNSWF’s Chair, Helene O’Neill said “We are well placed to achieve our bold vision of Football being acknowledged as the largest sport for males and females by 2023.”
Representatives from NNSWF’s seven (7) Member Zone and Standing Committees contributed to the plan. The insights provided by the thousands of players and other stakeholders through a series of surveys were invaluable.
“The strategic priorities and activities are reflective of the game’s needs and expectations. Our aim is to cascade the plan to Member Zones and ultimately to the 230 affiliated clubs, who are responsible for providing participation opportunities in their respective communities.” said NNSWF’s CEO, David Eland.
Improving the experience for all participants will continue to be NNSWF’s primary priority. Stakeholders can expect a raft of new initiatives which aim to significantly increase the presence of females throughout the game and assist clubs to be welcoming, inclusive and reflective of the increasing diversity of local communities.
NNSWF’s Chair, Helene O’Neill reaffirmed that “Unity of purpose and alignment are critical to the plan’s success and the sport’s continued growth, development and prosperity. The Board of Directors is charged with the responsibility of monitoring our progress and ensuring that the governing body responds proactively to opportunities and challenges which could derail the achievement of our vision.”
