Northern NSW Football announces Newcastle Permanent Club of the Year

October 30th, 2020

Northern NSW Football, is this week, pleased to announce its annual Newcastle Permanent Community Recognition Award winners for 2020 and has announced Newcastle Football club Kotara South FC as the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Year across the entire region.

The awards mark the culmination of the 2020 community football season recognising, celebrating and honouring those who may not play the game but provide immeasurable contributions to football across northern NSW.

The awards, which gained support from major community football partner Newcastle Permanent in 2015, are presented to winners from across NNSWF’s seven member zones throughout the year and culminate with regional winners in across four categories: Club of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Community Coach of the Year and Referee of the Year.

Northern NSW Football’s Head of Football Development Peter Haynes said the dedication of volunteers throughout the sport never ceased to impress him.

“The sport has had a challenging year like every aspect of our lives. However, Kotara South FC’s incredible hard work meeting COVID-19 requirements allowed so many people, young and old, to get back to playing football this year. That kind of effort and dedication shows how incredibly valuable clubs are as community assets.

“Northern NSW Football congratulates Kotara South FC on being named the Northern NSW Football Newcastle Permanent Club of the Year for 2020.”
