Pottsville Beach Football Club Men’s Championship League team has been crowned Northern NSW Football Men’s State Community Plate Winners for 2026.
The Panthers travelled to Speers Point to take on Newcastle based club, Warners Bay FC. Despite an eight-hour bus trip that required a stopover in Port Macquarie last Friday night and a sluggish start that saw the team down one-nil at half-time, the Panthers stormed home in the second half, scoring five goals to claim a comprehensive 5-1 victory. Pottsville Beach FC was the sole Football Far North Coast team that entered the Australia Cup competition this year and its progression to claim the Community Plate, is a testament to the strength of the team that currently leads the FFNC second-tier men’s league and is anticipated to progress to the local premier league in 2027.
Congratulations to Pottsville Beach FC for showcasing football in this region with a stellar performance that was applauded by a big audience that included hundreds who viewed the match whether at the venue or who watched via the live-stream option last Saturday.
