The information shown below is consistent with the requirements of Law 4 (players’ equipment) in the International Laws of the Game.
Playing strips and equipment are compulsory and each player in the same team (except the goalie), is required to wear a shirt, shorts and socks, that are the same design and colour as worn by every team-mate. The goalie is okay to wear the same design/colour shorts and socks but must wear a shirt that is distinctly different from team-mates.
Other requirements of playing equipment that are compulsory include;
- Each shirt must have sleeves (note that sleeves cannot be rolled up);
- Each shirt must have a distinct and easily visible number on the back of the shirt;
- Shin guards must be worn underneath socks and be of a size to provide reasonable protection;
- Footwear must be worn;

- Sprigs on boots must not be sharp or not potentially create a hazard or cause injury;
- Jewellery is prohibited and cannot be taped to avoid having to remove it;
- Playing strips used by a club/players must be approved for use by FFNC;
- Every club must have an alternate playing strip approved by FFNC;
- Alternate playing strips are worn (where required) by the HOME team;
- Goalkeepers must wear a playing shirt that is distinguishable from that of their own team and the opposition team;
- Goalkeepers are permitted to wear shorts (or long pants) and socks that are of a different colour to outfield players (when playing as a goalkeeper only);
- A player is not permitted to participate if wearing a cast or brace on an arm or knee;
- FFNC has NOT provided (and will not provide) any exceptions for ANY player to participate if wearing an item that is not consistent with the playing strip that has been approved for their club by Football Far North Coast.
Authority to deviate from what is outlined above is not permitted, including by any individual match official or by the competition administrator.
