Football Far North Coast and Football North Coast will both be represented at the Northern NSW Football quarter final stage to be contested on 10th June at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
The semi-finals of the country zones stage were re-scheduled to the synthetic pitch at Southern Cross University in Lismore following the postponement of games last Sunday in Coffs Harbour.
Byron Bay FC defeated Coffs Tigers FC 5-1 and were always in control of the match despite Tigers holding the Rams within their sights for about 70 minutes of the game. Byron Bay striker Gianiuca Bongiovanni found the net four times, including one from the penalty spot and substitute Jonathan Pierce scored a spectacular long range goal to secure the victory.
In the second game, Coffs United FC came out fast to lead 2-0 over Bangalow SC, with Coffs striker Nick Lambert getting two goals in the first five minutes against the reigning Football Far North Coast champions. A third to Lambert after 35 minutes saw Coffs United go to halftime with a commanding 3-0 advantage. The Coffs Harbour outfit was unable to find any goals in the second half but did enough to take the game 3-0.
Byron Bay FC and Coffs United FC will now ply their skills against tough opposition from the PlayStation®4 NPL Northern NSW teams in the NNSWF quarter finals and semi-finals on June 10 and 12. The two winners from that weekend will represent Northern NSW Football in the National Round of 32.
