Registrations Off to a Positive Start

February 20th, 2024

The first competitive football matches within Football Far North Coast for season 2024 will officially start from next weekend.

In a positive sign for the season ahead, more than 50 teams will contest the respective pre-season competitions. The six distinct competitions that comprise the prestigious Tursa Employment & Training ANZAC Day Cup and Callan McMillan Memorial Shield activity often set the scene for the year ahead, with an estimated 7000 players anticipated to register in 2024.

The momentum gained from the FIFA Women’s World Cup last year, has inspired interest from more females to be part of the World Game. The already impressive plus 30% of total local registered players being female for many years, is set to increase to give more parity to providing opportunities for females.

Recruitment of match officials remains a high priority, as the player number increases, with adults in particular urged to step forward.

There is no question that officiating can be a challenge, but being a match official is a great way to give back to the game. If you’re interested in learning more about how to become a match official, please email referees@ffnc.net.au.

Registrations products are also open for individuals who propose to act as a Team Official (meaning a coach or team manager) and for people who help out in roles such as being a Duty Officer or who working in a canteen, now is the time to register. It is FREE of charge, but provides some indemnity should an injury or incident impact you when in that role.

Registrations are open until 30th June. To register, visit playfootball.com.au/register.
