The relentless wet weather that has impacted much football activity throughout season 2026 continues to impede efforts to reschedule fixtures for many teams.
FFNC continues to work through a range of variables, as efforts continue to recalibrate season 2026 for the balance of the season, that may include a modified pointscore format and/or a modified finals series for most senior leagues and junior competitions.
FFNC has this week communicated with clubs about the proposed way forward for each senior league (and is working through options for junior competitions). Further adverse weather conditions are likely to mean that yet more assessment is required to ensure that FFNC can deliver a comparable number of games relative to teams in specific competitions. An assessment of how the respective Finals Series will proceed and then each Grand Final, are further components that are uncertain at this time
The Grand Finals Series for each junior competition and senior league is expected to be played at Oakes Oval, Lismore, with three weekends (being 28/29/30 August, 4/5/6 September and 11/12/13 September) booked for the scheduling of the FFNC junior and senior Grand Finals.
The commitment, patience and resilience that most are demonstrating this season, on the back of yet another exceptionally challenging year, is acknowledged.
