Season 2022 Update

May 26th, 2022

Football Far North Coast can confirm that a number of previously washed-out fixtures have now been scheduled to be played mid-week on the nights of 7th/8th/9th June and 14th/15th June.

Although the disclosure was made by FFNC in April that there should be no expectations that competition fixtures that are washed out will subsequently be re-scheduled in 2022, it is absolutely clear that the stalled season thus far that has seen nearly 300 fixtures washed out, has become even worse than first anticipated?

FFNC would like to again THANK everyone for the resilience shown during these exceptionally challenging times.

75 of the washed out fixtures have now been scheduled to be played leading into the June Long Weekend and out of the Long Weekend. This is a start as we hopefully look forward to better conditions and these fixtures are scheduled to demonstrate that FFNC has not given up on season 2022. It’s a long and unknown path ahead, but we hope that everyone endorses the commitment to progress football, despite the obstacles faced.

Fixtures have been published to GameDay, with the list of fixtures also available here;

FFNC again makes it known that the lingering wet weather and sodden fields, means that any plans to reschedule all impacted fixtures in 2022 is likely to be unrealistic. FFNC has however not given up on reviewing options if the opportunity exists and there is much soul searching still required to try and deliver a meaningful 2022 season. There are plenty of suggestions being made known and amongst such ideas, we are listening to all reasonable proposals to consider.

We ask that players, coaches and parents review the respective draws closely and if any obvious errors are identified, that it is made known to your club with highest priority (so the club can advise FFNC).

We again thank all club volunteers who have worked tirelessly through arguably the toughest year ever experienced for the local community.
