NEWS FLASH: Junior Competitions commencing 1st/2nd/3rd April will be published on our website by 4pm Thursday 24th March.
Football starts in earnest next week when all senior competitions commence, as well as many of the 12-16 age junior competitions. With Easter falling this weekend, players across the zone will be hoping that the chocolate eggs they may consume in coming days gives them extra energy for a big performance in week one of the season.
Player registrations are predicted to again be upwards of 6500 and although most clubs have finalised their teams for 2016, registrations are still possible until 30th June. We encourage players who are yet to register (or parents who have not yet signed their children up to play) to contact a club with highest priority. With 25 member clubs across the region, there may be an option to find a team should your 1st preferred club be unable to place you in a team?
Football is available in a non-competitive format for players aged 5 years (or turning 5 in 2016) to 11 years and then from age 12 to “much older” in a pointscore competition. With around 30% of players being female, our aim is to attract more females to be involved in our game. Football provides opportunities to be a player or match official or BOTH and we highlight the values of participation, fitness, friendship and community involvement that come from having a role in the World Game.
The key date for our youngest players is Saturday 30th April, when all MINIROOS games kick-off.
Football Far North Coast wishes EVERYONE an enjoyable season and urges a spirit of respect and sound values from everyone, whether you are playing, coaching, officiating or supporting. Remember that the game is a reflection of who we are collectively. Let’s be proud of the reputation we establish and let’s continue to make football the most desirable participation sport in this area.
Enquiries about registrations can be directed to one of the 25 member clubs by following the “Find a Club” link in the PLAYER HEADQUARTERS of our website.
