Summer Youth League Update

November 17th, 2023

Football action continues beyond the winter season, as the Tursa Employment and Training Summer Youth League reaches round 6.

Byron Bay FC, Alstonville FC and Lismore Richmond Rovers FC, are each on 12 points and with the competition winner to be decided by the team on most points after the completion of ten rounds, the winner is almost certain to come from one of these teams.

The Summer Youth League was first played in 2008 and provides an opportunity for players aged 14-18, to participate in a competitive post season format. The competition also provides an environment for match officials to remain engaged in the game, with a range of training provided as part of skills development. Fixtures kick-off at 6.30pm each Friday and will continue until 15th December.

Spectators will note that players and match officials walk onto the field from the Technical Area before each match and acknowledge each other when on the field of play, by shaking hands, which is known as the FIFA Handshake. Football Far North Coast aims to introduce this protocol before every competition match in 2024, consistent with strategies to promote more RESPECT within the football environment.

THANKS is again extended to long-term Strategic Partner Tursa Employment and Training, for its alignment with the community, including through football activity.
