Tursa Employment & Training Continues Support for Pre-Season Competitions

January 23rd, 2025

Tursa Employment & Training has aligned with Football Far North Coast as the major strategic partner of the 2025 pre-season competitions.

The Tursa Employment & Training ANZAC Day Cup was first contested in 1950 providing 75 years of historical significance. The Men’s Premier League competition will be contested by the ten 2025 Men’s Premier League clubs whilst teams will also contest Open A, Open B, Open C and Grade 16 Mixed competitions (with each competition subject to nominations received).

Women’s pre-season competitions will see the Tursa Employment & Training Callan McMillan Memorial Shield proceed. Callan McMillan Jnr played a significant role in the establishment of female football in our region throughout the mid-1970s. Female football continues to grow in the region as evidenced by the record number of female players in season 2024. Subject to nominations received competitions will be held for ‘A’ Division, ‘B’ Division, and Girls Grade 16.

Football Far North Coast invites clubs that propose to nominate a team(s) in any of the 2025 Tursa Employment & Training ANZAC Day Cup or Callan McMillan Memorial Shield competitions to do so with priority, noting that nominations are accepted in order of submission. The opportunity to nominate a team will close Thursday 6th February.

The Competition Regulations have been posted to the FFNC website and can be accessed here.

Players who are interested in participating in one of these pre-season competitions should contact their club, noting that players, team officials and club volunteers can register online from 1st February * (*subject to respective club registration products being submitted and approved by FFNC).

Season 2025 is anticipated to see registrations again surge beyond 7500 players and several thousand other registered participants. Again, we urge persons aged at least 13 years to step forward and become match officials. A practical workshop will be convened on Saturday 8th February at Hepburn Park, Goonellabah for individuals who have completed the theoretical modules of the New Referees Course and registered for the practical event.

Good luck to all participants in 2025!
