2016 Football Far North Coast Men’s Premier Division Champions Bangalow SC and also Byron Bay FC have qualified for the Northern NSW Football regional quarter finals of the Westfield FFA Cup competition for 2017. The Bluedogs prevailed 2-1 over Alstonville in a close tussle at Crawford Park Alstonville on Wednesday night 12th April, while Byron Bay FC flexed their muscles with a resounding 8-0 victory over Italo Stars FC at the Southern Cross University synthetic pitch.

Both Football Far North Coast teams now advance to the next stage to be contested in Coffs Harbour on Saturday 13th May (regional quarter finals) and hopefully the semi-finals on Sunday 14th May. Two teams from each of the four NNSWF country zones will contest these quarter finals, with two teams to subsequently proceed from May to the NNSWF quarter finals and potentially semi-finals that will be played at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on the June long weekend.
