The adverse weather conditions leading up to and during last weekend, led to the majority of competition fixtures being postponed and regretfully the cancellation of most miniroos games. Lingering wet weather always highlights the confusion in many situations, as too many people rely on social media or wrong information, to make a decision about whether fields are open or closed? The wet weather remains, so we again highlight messaging to assist better understanding of what to do and what lines of communication exist.
The wet weather procedures, (found via the link shown below) outlines the procedures that remain consistent and should be understood and shared with your members.

The key messages are;
- Fields are OPEN unless formally advised as being closed by notification from FFNC (in conjunction with individual clubs);
- FFNC will immediately re-schedule competition fixtures (i.e. move to an alternate venue), IF an assessment of such a change relevant to the same weekend, is considered reasonable;
- DON’T conclude that your game is off unless formally advised via your authorised club channels;
- DON’T rely on social media, which is often found to be wrong (as it was many times last weekend);
- DON’T rely on council website postings, which do not always reflect information that is relevant to local authority that exits.
We can’t control the weather and it is exceptionally disappointing that so many games have been called off so early in season 2024. FFNC will however, continue to work through all reasonable options to get the season back on track.
Stay patient and stay positive.
