The best Northern NSW Football’s (NNSWF) senior women’s teams will again be showcased through the exciting TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup with TAFE NSW continuing its support for 2019.
The 2019 TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup will be held on Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July, at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility in Speers Point.
Senior women’s teams from across Northern NSW have the opportunity to represent their member club as well as promote the continued development of female participation within their region.
This year, NNSWF will introduce the addition of the TAFE NSW Community Plate to be contested by the two best-performing community teams not involved in the TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup Final.
NNSWF Head of Football Development Peter Haynes, said female participation in football is a key focus for the sport right across the region and it’s great that opportunities provided for female players are quickly expanding.
“We have had the FFA Cup for male participants for a number of years now and the TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup is ensuring that female players within NNSWF have similar opportunities,” Haynes said.
“The TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup is a fantastic opportunity for female teams to take part in a premier cup competition allowing an opportunity to play against teams from other Zones within NNSW while bridging the gap between community football and the Herald Women’s Premier League.
“It is hoped that the TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup continues to grow as well as captures the imaginations of women and girls throughout the State in a similar way that the FFA Cup has for male players.
“Northern NSW Football is committed to growing the game for women and girls and the TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup is at the heart of our offerings,” Haynes concluded.
NNSWF will host the TAFE NSW Women’s State Cup Dinner on the Saturday evening of the event which includes guest speakers from TAFE NSW, Next-Gen Physio, Urban Base Fitness and Lissome.
NNSWF invites all clubs with senior women’s teams to be a part of the excitement.
