Grant Funding

November 17th, 2025

The quest to secure grant funding is a common objective at most Member Clubs and knowing what grants are available and understanding how to formulate a sound plan are each critical to achieving a successful outcome.

There is help available from a range of sources, such as from Gary Fisher, who was appointed as Northern NSW Football’s Government Relations Manager in February 2025. Since commencing in this role, Gary has met with many key stakeholders at Local, State and Federal Government level, advocating for and securing funding for football infrastructure and programs. Gary has further sought to create purposeful relationships with as many volunteers within the 198 football clubs across the Northern NSW Football footprint, to support enhancing the processes and knowledge about grant funding.

Timelines for grant funding do not always align with being relevant within a football season and as each club considers the way forward for 2026, we encourage your club to reach out to Gary to help identify a project that might meet the criteria for short, medium, or long-term priorities from a government relations and facilities perspective.

Just one of many potential sources of grant funding is from the Northern NSW Football Facilities Fund. The Fund provides financial assistance to NNSWF member clubs to partner with local stakeholders to improve the quality, availability, accessibility and safety of their facilities. The Fund is financed by a portion of participants’ registration fees each year and was created to allocate some of that revenue being dedicated to improve club facilities.

Clubs are invited to contact Gary Fisher at gfisher@northernnswfootball.com.au to discuss strategies aimed at securing grant funding for your club.
