Twelve of the most talented junior players from the region have particularly excelled at a tournament this week at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility at Speers Point.
The Under 13 team, under the guidance of Football Far North Coast Technical Director Victor Stokes and Bangalow’s Men’s Premier Division coach Neil Fuller, were crowned winners of the event that featured teams from across Northern NSW and Newcastle, including the Emerging Jets teams.
“This result is a fantastic reflection on the talent and technical development of our young players.” FFNC Technical Director, Victor Stokes said. “Although the higher player numbers in Newcastle makes it very hard for regional teams to be competitive, we have some very gifted players who train exceptionally hard. This result is a worthy reward for the efforts these players make to advance their football.” Stokes concluded.
The FFNC Under 14 squad also performed well and although not winning a medal, the team also impressed observers from within Newcastle and other zones about the talent that exists in this area.
The players in the Under 13 squad are Zani Addis, Milo Biscogni, Theo Clarke, Sil deWit, Marcus Gibss, Alby Kay, Taigh Kolas, Nicky Koutsoubas, William Lee, Jamilla Rankin, Tasman Saunders and Ashta Hall-Hart.
