Local Match Officials attend their Annual Seminar

February 15th, 2016

The 2016 FFNC Annual Referees Seminar was held in Alstonville on Sunday with presentations from several keynote speakers, including former local match official Tanya de Boer.

The Annual Seminar is the first event each year that brings match officials together as a group to provide coaching, instruction and support in preparation for the upcoming season. The seminar also highlighted the skills that match officials learn by being involved in this important role within the game.

This year, former FIFA Assistant Referee Tanya de Boer headlined a list of keynote speakers, which also included Glen Peterkin (leading NNSWF State League Referee) and Luke Davies (NNSWF Referees Technical Director and A-League Assessor).

The event was overseen by FFNC Match Officials Development Officer, Anthony Smith, who also provided further coaching on the day to ensure that those in attendance are well prepared for the upcoming season.

Match Officials training is this Wednesday at Southern Cross Football Centre, East Lismore, from 6pm – 7pm. All registered 2015 and 2016 match officials are encouraged to attend.

A NEW Referees Course commences on Sunday 21st February (10am – approx. 5pm) and concludes on Monday 22nd February (6pm – 9pm). Anyone interested in becoming a referee should click here or contact referees@ffnc.net.au or 0434856992 for further enquiries.
