Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) will again host Mental Health Round to assist raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding Mental Health within the football and greater community.

Northern NSW Football CEO David Eland said the governing body remained committed to shining a light on mental health following the success and acceptance of the inaugural Mental Health Round in 2020 – which included Premier Clubs adopting a Mental Health Pledge which committed their club to fostering a culture which is inclusive supportive and respectful.
“We are again partnering with Lifeline Hunter Central Coast and Talk2MeBro, as well mental health advocate Craig Hamilton and sport psychologist Fiona McCarthy to provide tangible advice to administrators, coaches, players and parents.

“Football is the largest participation sport in the country, we have the capacity to directly communicate with thousands of players, coaches, volunteers and match officials, many of whom are young people.

“The activities aim to provide volunteers, coaches and parents with the tools to identify signs and symptoms of poor mental health and where they can seek help,” confirmed Eland.
