Leading Football Far North Coast match official Kiara Jobson was appointed as centre referee to officiate the UNE Women’s Regional Super League Grand Final that was played on Saturday 8th August between Coffs City United FC and Lake Cathie FC.
23-year-old Jobson continues to demonstrate her outstanding qualities as a match official and also as an individual. As the current Football Far North Coast Female Referee of the Year, Jobson was deservedly recognised earlier this year by also being awarded the Northern NSW Female Football Week Referee of the Year for her broad contribution to the game. The appointment of Jobson to officiate the UNE Women’s Regional Super League Grand Final, recognises the competency that Jobson has as a leading match official in regional NSW.
Beyond the perennial obstacles in efforts to recruit and to retain match officials at community football level, there is a significant need to engage with many more females to motivate them to become a match official. Kiara Jobson is an outstanding example of a person who has both the personal characteristics and necessary skills, to inspire other females, whether they are current players, coaches or parents, to themselves become a match official.
We encourage females to register an interest in becoming a match official by navigating the information shown HERE.
