Further Season Update

May 29th, 2025

FFNC continues to work through the 400 plus competition fixtures that have been washed out this season. While fixtures are only published at this stage, until the weekend being 4/5/6 July, please be aware that ongoing work is being done before further fixtures can be published.

FFNC acknowledges that some clubs prefer to play catch-up games mid-week, while others would prefer to play twice on a given weekend. The reality is that FFNC must necessarily schedule according to a range of factors and we ask that everyone to recognise that scheduling will not always suit every expectation. We must also consider reasonable demands upon match officials, again highlighting that there are not enough match officials generally and it is not fair to ask individuals to officiate multiple games over a short period.

SENIOR LEAGUES

  • All senior fixtures that were postponed from the weekend of 16/17/18 May will be scheduled to be played on the weekend of 11/12/13 July.
    • Note that the July schedule will not necessarily replicate the kick-off times, days or venues that were to proceed in May.

  • Fixtures that were originally scheduled to be played on the weekend of 1/2/3 August are now anticipated to proceed on 29/30/31 August.

  • Postponed fixtures not scheduled on either of these dates (being 11/12/13 July or 1/2/3 August) will need to be scheduled midweek (subject to further assessment about the logistics of proceeding with such scheduling, field lighting, field availability and demands on players and match officials).

JUNIOR COMPETITIONS

  • Junior competitions will now have at least one ‘spare’ weekend before the modified finals series commences.

  • The aim is to schedule junior games that were previously postponed to such ‘spare weekends’ (where they are identified), but we highlight that this will mean teams that have played more games than others in the same competition, can anticipate having a ‘weekend off’ at some stage, as we try and restore parity to the broader competition.

Every reasonable effort will be made to deliver a reasonable participation opportunity for all stakeholders.
